QuiQui is daughter of the 805’s undocumented migrant community and granddaughter of the Maya-Mam people in Guatemala and Mexico. She learned to ride on Hueneme’s streets on a BMX when she was eight and then received a hot-pink beach cruiser as a gift from her grandmother to help her run grocery store errands.
After graduating from Hueneme High, she attended CSU Northridge (BS Business Administration and Information Systems; MA Geography) and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (PhD Geography) before moving back to Chumash lands to offer popular education in public parks, living rooms, gardens, farms, and bicycle repair shops.
Pedro has been with the BikeVC crew since 2019 and comes to us from Oxnard, where he’s the shop lead at the Oxnard HUB.
Adriana supports our admin work and advises on our mental health programs. She is an Oxnard native and a community organizer with Community Roots Garden and the Mixteco/Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP).
Sergio joined the Bike Ventura crew earlier this summer. He has over 10 years experience working for Bicycle non-profits. He enjoys helping others work on their bike as well as teaching adult and youth bicycle education.
Catch him on the road or shredding some dirt on his klunker. He lives in Oxnard
Zuli joins the BikeVentura team from Oxnard, CA. She is a native Spanish (with Mayan influence) speaker and is passionate about learning and creating. She is a devoted community member and partners with the La Colonia youth to bring art to her community!
Zuli’s passion for cycling grew when she was in the Bay Area and was greeted with bright green lanes. This was a stark contrast to her hometown. She’s a fixie rider and is digging in to the mechanical side of cycling and is also ready to advocate for safer streets in Ventura County.
